Scurry of activity on the Rappahannock River

Cameron B., John Helton, and Hunter N. watch Scouts play in the water.

Troop 48 departed Lynchburg, Virginia Friday evening just before 7pm. After stopping twice for bathroom breaks, we arrived in Deltaville, Virginia at the Goode family’s summer home on the Rappahannock River. It was 11pm and the Scouts had to unpack the Troop’s trailer, set their tents up, get a good night’s sleep, and get up early Saturday morning.

Saturday morning was beautiful. The sun came up in the big blue sky and we could hear the water slapping up against the shore. After a big breakfast (the adult patrol always eats good) we talked about safety in the water. The first-year Scouts took their swim test at the end of the dock before they went out to have fun.
