Welcome to Troop 48’s website!
We are an Active EAGLE Opportunity Troop believing in a program that:
Emphasizes Outdoor Experiences and Community Service
Provides Opportunities for Leadership Development
Promotes a life exemplifying the Scout Oath and Law
Troop 48 is an adventure based scout program, led by our Scouts. Continuously active since 1954, we regularly participate in fun-filled activities like camping, hiking, biking, boating & water activities. We've been gliding, cart racing, white water rafting and even taken far off high adventures at Philmont and Sea Base.
Along the way, you'll learn valuable life skills, outdoor skills, organization and leadership skills. Through our merit badge program, you have the opportunity to learn about about sports, crafts, science, trades, business and future careers. You'll be recognized for your achievements through awards, merit badges and ranks. And, if you work hard enough, you may even earn Eagle Scout, one of the most prestigious awards a youth can earn!
Join the Adventure, Join Troop 48!
Troop 48 typically meets on Monday 7-8:15pm at Bud Turner Scouting Center of Timberlake Church 21649 Timberlake Road, Lynchburg, VA. 24502 (white building on the right of the church).
Troop 48 follows Campbell County School calendar (No school, generally no meeting). No meetings in month of July after Summer Camp week typically scheduled during July 4th week. For details, please see our meeting & event calendar
